Default pacific northwest rock festivals

i am researching rock festivals for historical documentation-particularly the 1968-71 era. i wish to hear from anybody willing to share who participated in any way- musician, ticket buyer, ticket seller, gate crasher, cop, local. etc.

i am especially interested in the canceled rock festival called sunrise 71, the high bridge concert series in spokane, the universal life church picnic in farragut, idaho (1971) and norwester 76.

please contact me at toyser22@yahoo.com

I went to as many as possible....I do remember the ones at Farragut and at Satsop .....the only band I can remember was Cadillac something or other.. I'm into cars...no one went for the music.. the fun was to skinny dip get high and get laid..and of course talk about Sartre ...if that was what it took to get laid... I have a few photos...but not many memories....damn those were the days...

Possibly Junior Cadillac? http://www.pnwbands.com/jrcadillac.html I saw them at a free concert in Seattle in about 71, they were billed with Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks.

Had to be Junior Cadillac. They played every little bar, car show, and county fair around Eastern WA for 20-30 years it seems.

Default We were gate crashers...

This friend of mine (who later retired as a Administrator at Gonzaga) and I were working for the Forest Service as fire fighters and we bought this old orange and white ambulance for a couple hundred bucks (the siren and emergency lights had been taken off). When we could get away, we would head out for one of these "events" and usually arrive at night or in the early morning and with the horn honking and the headlights flashing we would just drive thru the traffic to the gate and get waived in. That kid had the guts of a burgler...but that is a whole other story...

Dan Hicks, the Hot Licks, and the Lickettes. I still listen to 'em.
Here is your wayback machine. The 2nd one is as little more upbeat

I have 9 color prints...all about 4x3.5 "....I suspect the collection has been thinned of anything of interest... they all are of poor quality showing the crowd...the concert area....the swimming beach....and the famous Faux Ambulance ....they "capture" the skinny long haired hippy kids and the litter, tents and mud.....all at Farragut ... I recall my friend became a minister in the Universal Life Church for some nominal fee and I was married a couple times that weekend ....if you would like to see them, pm me your mail address and name and I will send them to you...
