What is The Foo ?
From Wikipedia
Foo is a metasyntactic variable used heavily in computer science to represent concepts abstractly and can be used to represent any part of a complicated system or idea including the data, variables, functions, and commands just to name a few. Foo is commonly used with the metasyntactic variables bar and foobar. The word foo itself has no meaning and is merely a commonly used logical representation that is used much like the letters 'X' and 'Y' in algebra.

Hopefully this won't get so out of hand that there will be forums called "bar", "baz", "quux", and "quuuux"
if (!(gonzaga.win))
{
foobar = true;
MessageBox.Show("ARGHGHGH!!!!!");
return;
}

Why set the foobar flag true if you are not going to use it? Why not override Messagbox.Show and send foobar as the arg and have it do the work?

Good call. I'm glad this board also has a built-in compiler that throws good errors and warnings!

But then again you could take the Perl approach.
"There's more than one way to do it."
Far be it for me to parse someone's code...got beat up plenty of times during code reviews.

i took a semester of computer programming at GU - almost 100% fortran, I think. (graduated in 98 and it was probably a soph level class)
never had to deal w/ it again after that class ended. thank god! (even though I'm pretty sure I got an A in the class)

They should add more forums.
One titled "Ask Lothar" would be a good addition. A lot of bad advice and incorrect answers could be given...

Alright that's before my time.
As a recent graduate of GU, the CS department pounded C++ into our heads (as well as the .NET platform which I now work with at my job). Not sure if that's changed now that CS is in the Engineering dept - I just missed that transition.
Any cs/enginerds remember suffering through cpen 231?
