  • Zags vs. UConn Climate Pledge Arena

    From Theo Lawson:

#Gonzaga will face #UConn next season at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, with a return game in NY at Madison Square Garden in 2024-25. The national champion Huskies ended the Zags’ NCAA run in the Elite Eight.

Haven't four UConn players declared for the draft, including Newton, Hawkins, Sanogo and Jackson? I think at least two hired agents and won't return.

Depends on the agents. Some agents can be hired and the player will still be allowed to return.

They have no. 4 recruiting class for 2023 so it won’t matter. Difficult game
Probably the only Gonzaga fan in Ireland!

              - this is great news for gu basketball. again showing we can entice games with elite teams and want to play a tough o.o.c. schedule.
              - don't think uconn is gonna be down next year. they will be a solid pre-season top 10 team, maybe higher. i'd peg this game as one of our o.o.c. losses for next year. but what dividends a win would pay!

The last Battle in Seattle vs UConn --

Expert recap and game analysis of the UConn Huskies vs. Gonzaga Bulldogs NCAAM game from December 20, 2008 on ESPN.

“The true measure of a Jesuit education,” said former Superior General Peter-Hans Kolvenbach, “is not what our students do, but who they become.”

Ok Irish, but Zags have a stellar 2023-24 recruiting class, too- (in my view), especially if you expand the parameters. New blood: redshirt Huff, Yeo, Toohey, Stromer, Nembhard, and Ike. And perhaps another one yet gets added. Turnover is turnover- fresh faces. * Go Zags!!

Of course it's a tough game, wouldn't want it any other way. UCONN is back on the map and will have a huge uptick in recruiting. Should be a fun game!

Oh and I forgot Steele Venters! A lot to like in his assertiveness on the offensive side. He can put points up in a hurry.

Depends when they play the Kentucky game, if that’s pre-Maui like last year then I’d logically expect December 2nd or 16th. 2nd seems most likely to me. Played that first Saturday in December against Alabama a couple years ago.
