Don't these GM's and mock draft guys KNOW that Timme won't get drafted? Somebody from this forum should tell them!

That's an interesting take that Dan has about only needing one of 30-ish teams to be keen on Timme. I've got to think that Drew's attitude/personality/humor has got to figure in as well. Drew's fun to watch and certainly creates a hefty fan base. I've never been to a NBA game but I'd certainly go to a Lakers game to see Drew and Rui should Drew end up in LA. I also feel that should Drew get onto a NBA team that he'll develop a significant fan base in that city which will impact ticket sales. Drew, at least at first, isn't going to be a team's stat filler. But, he'll get positive attention one way or another. Timme's obviously a goal oriented guy. He made the best of his stay in Spokane. Next up a NBA city. I sure feel Timme's future is pretty bright where ever he ends up. I can't see his prospects diminishing. He's going to be fun to keep track of to see how well he achieves the goals he sets his mind/body to attain.

"His official height without shoes on - 6'8.75" " I'm even more impressed with his college career now.

The NBA only cares about the attitude/personality of a player if it's negative and will tolerate a lot of if you are good enough. I always thought the boards had Timme as a second rounder if a team found a fit for him, similar to Ayayi.

He regretfully won't get drafted. All the NBA execs care about is the 3... don't shoot it... don't play in the NBA. It is one of the things that kills me about the NBA. I will gladly eat crow if he does. IMHO, this isn't about Drew's ability to play but rather the 1 track mind of the NBA executives.

Until he can demonstrate being able to shoot 3s at a good rate, they'll foolishly pass on him.

2nd round seems like where teams like to roll the dice a bit. Mark Few is one of the most respected coaches that feeds players into this event. Obviously players can continue to improve, but one wonders if a league that is generally pretty conceited about how much potential they might untap sees Gonzaga players coming out as much nearer to their "ceiling".

Pretty big NBA fan, I’m fairly confident Timme goes undrafted and then gets a decent summer league opportunity. His biggest deficiency is guarding in space which is a very important NBA skill. If you can’t guard in space AND you can’t shoot the 3, then yeah, gonna be hard to make it. One of the two gives you a chance. Just an entirely different game from college with the spacing, so you have to either contribute to a spaced floor offensively or hold your own against one defensively. Luka Garza probably an optimistic comp but he is up to 36% from the NBA 3 point line last year. But in order to get minutes at the end of the bench they have to know you’re not gonna give up a bucket every time. Don’t even have to be a good defender, just not a terrible one—which is a pretty big misconception for the causal fan who doesn’t follow the NBA. Timme being a smart player from a well-regarded school will help, but ultimately that only helps so much.

Drew is one of my favorite Zags to ever come through and I’m rooting for him—just realistic about the desired skills of the NBA. Think he can get a cup of coffee on a bad team but anything more than an Elias Harris, Johnathan Williams type NBA career would surprise me. Also, nbadraft.net hasn’t been very good for about a decade.

I would hope that the professionals predicting in the first few links are also big NBA fans.
                      We shall see.

Yes, many will. Sure hope one team gives him a chance. His passion for the game could alone give a team the spark it may be missing.

I am looking forward to Timme playing in the summer league and watching him dominate other centers. I have been watching college basketball for over 60 years and I have never seen any player college/NBA that has his footwork in the paint! BUT he has to find a way to make "3's" if he wants to stick in the NBA...IMO
