WSU needs to do what's best for them, and if they leave OSU behind, so be it. Again, I would love it if the Zags and WSU would play each other on a regular basis; the thought of Beasley Coliseum being over-run with Zags fans would warm the cockles of my heart.
The NBA playoffs, a best of 7 is always better than a best of 1.

I suspect that a merger between the last Pac-12 members and the Mountain West is inevitable. The Pac-12 brand may still have enough value to draw some of the better Mountain West programs into a reconstituted Pac-8/10/12. We might see the Mountain West Conference absorb two new members and buy the Pac-12 name.
On another note, I suspect that some of the exiting Pac-12 programs may try to leave their non-revenue programs behind in one of the western conferences. My understanding is that the NCAA requires members to keep all of their sports in one conference, unless the conference doesn’t sponsor a sport. That rule can be changed and probably will be changed if the entire Big-Ten and the entire ACC push for that change. Those leagues don’t want to ship their swim teams, softball teams, wrestling teams, etc. to the opposite side of the country any more than Oregon and USC want to send their track teams to Rutgers. If they can just move the football and basketball programs, the gaining leagues might collectively agree to let Stanford, UCLA, etc. compete in the Pac-12, Mountain West, or WCC for everything else. The TV partners may have a say in that decision, but do ESPN or fox really care about college volleyball or rowing?“No team in the country has a better winning percentage against power conference teams since 2017 than Gonzaga... the Zags are playing above average teams in the best leagues in the country and winning 78% of the time.”

Two of ways for MWC Teams to move to PAC is pay the exit fee OR get nine of the 11 teams to vote to dissolve the conference. I like the idea of the MWC in its entirety joining the PAC. If that happens then that would be 13 football schools and 12 basketball schools a well balanced conference. Hawaii being a football only school! Don’t see how adding GU would work another football school would not be invited OR an additional football team being invited…a D1-AA power house possibly…then there would be 14 football schools and 13 Bball schools which would allow GU to be the sole Bball school. All schools would have all athletic if teams participate - except for Hawaii.

Football doesn't play 12 conference games a season anyway...or didn't used to, and there would be no OOC games against patsies (like Montana at UW).Not even a smile? What's your problem!
