I was thinking the exact same thing, and since he's a preferred walk-on, he's certainly knocking on that door.

I wonder if it has anything to do with possibly having to withdraw it next year? I mean, as I understand it, scholarships are renewed on a yearly basis anyway, but it might have something to do with that. Perhaps it may mess with his chances of financial aid next year if it's not renewed? Purely speculation on my part.

More likely reason may be to keep a schollie available for a possible midseason transfer or new addition (like Yeo last year). Maybe Zoom Diallo graduates in December and comes to Spokane early!! Would be great to get him a 1/2 season of backup duty / learning the ropes before he starts in 2024-25 season.
