  • GU vs Santa Clara - Predictions/Thoughts/What you do hope to see

Short window... First road game of conference play for the Zags as the roll into Leavy to play the Santa Clara Broncos. Broncos have won 4 or their last 5. Will the Broncos buck the Zags and pull off an upset or will the Zags roll SCU like they did BYU?

What are you hoping to see tomorrow? Expecting to see? Thoughts? Predictions?

Have at it boys and girls!

I think it will be a closer game than last night. Hoping to see an even better defensive performance than last night. It was nice to see the starters play as long as they did against BYU, but I don't expect the same against Santa Clara.

    Zags - 88
University of Santa Clara - 72
My posts indicate that I don't seem to follow college basketball all that closely.

This is a tough one... Zags have been on an incredible tear... but roadie... but limited attendance due to COVID... hmmmm

Think the Zags pull away early... maintain a solid double digit game throughout with plenty of bench time.

      Zags 97
      Broncos 81

        Zags - 101
        Broncos - 65

Hope it is a larger margin, since they took our live view away....

Interested to see how Vrancic looks this season. They are dangerous when he is healthy but I doubt it will make a difference in the final result.

would love to see triple digits for 3rd game in a row.

This is the first road game of the season against a Top 75 team. The Broncos have real size and experience in the post. The Zags should win, but the Broncos will make them work. I think a healthy SCU is a better team than BYU’s depleted roster.

                    Zags 94-84.
“No team in the country has a better winning percentage against power conference teams since 2017 than Gonzaga... the Zags are playing above average teams in the best leagues in the country and winning 78% of the time.”

Hope not to see a letdown, after last night's amazing (but very emotional) win. I need 9 hours of sleep tonight just to recover. Will be Roxy Bernstein on the call; he's rock solid when he does P12 games. Just realized that the reason we are on FOX-28 is because NBC has a wild card NFL game going.

Santa Clara has some pretty good players. This game will not be as easy as what it has been over the last several years. They are much better.

Gonzaga wins in a high possession game. Santa Clara's offense is actually very good (top 50 - I think) but their defense is not as good.

                        Gonzaga = 89
                        Santa Clara = 79
                        Love the Zags!!!

In 1984, the University of Santa Clara (USC) decided to rebrand as Santa Clara University (SCU). Apparently they grew weary of being confused with the University of Spoiled Children (USC) located in SoCal.

                            Broncos: 75
                            Zags: 89
