  • It's Official Kevin Pangos to Barcelona - New Euroleague chapter begins

Kevin now making serious money playing basketball...

    https://www.eurohoops.net/en/eurolea...two-year-deal/

    https://www.fcbarcelona.com/sections...arcelona-lassa

Back in the ACB as well (also with old ACB teammate Kyle Kuric), will be playing against Kyle Wiltjer when they play Malaga

Will be interesting to see how the team gels given a lot of new players on the roster (and how many have been picked to play with Kevin).

By bringing in Kuric, Singleton and Smits, Barcelona have three new players that are all very capable 3pt shooters along with KP. Perhaps playing more like Zalgiris did last season..

Interesting summary of Kevin's career to now.......

        I love this quote..

"Kevin Pangos went to college at the age of 18, and, in fact, one of the most important ones in American basketball, Gonzaga"

Obviously most know that Kevin will play for Canada over the next week in two games.

here is an interesting article detailing as to what lengths he went to, to ensure he got the chance to play.

I forgot to post about this the other week, but KP looked fantastic for Canada as our starting PG in a clear cut victory over Brazil.
Just confident, in control, making clear decisive decisions and really controlling the game flow. Only real critique was his defense with him being beat off the dribble routinely by an aged (but still effective) Leandro Barbosa. I am not sure he ever lands in the NBA due to his limitations on defense, but I am very happy to see him as one of the best PGs in the world outside the NBA. I'm thinking NWG will be in that discussion this year as well.

Wow. Barcelona gets hammered by CSKA Moscow 95-75 in its first Euroleague game. Kevin came away with 2 points, a single assist, and 4 turnovers in 15:07, with a PIR of -8. Box Score.

Anybody know what's up with Kevin's poor performance, compared with what he accomplished at Zalgris?

Svetislav Pesic, the coach of Barcelona, cannot be more different from Jasikevicius. Pesic is very oldschool while Jasikevicius is really into analytics. I'm guessing Kevin is now playing in a far different system. Not to mention it was against CSKA, the perennial favorites to win the Euroleague. I'm sure Kevin will bounce back. He was struggling when he first came to Zalgiris as well until he got used to everything.

Barcelona came away with a big win today over TECNYCONTA ZARAGOZA, scoring 99-55. Box Score. Kevin's performance was greatly improved, with 10 points and 8 assists.

I liked this blurb about Kevin's performance, translated: http://www.eurobasket.lt/naujienos/r...naujiena/97280
The excitement of the game was better in the two formerly unlucky Kevin Pangas, who played tragically in the last two bouts. The Canadian scored 10 points in 19 minutes (2/2 doubles, 2/4 t.), Made 8 outcourses and scored 15 points.
