    Men's Golf Earns President’s Special Recognition

    Zags receive honor for seventh time in program history

    NORMAN, Okla. – The Gonzaga men's golf team was named a Golf Coaches Association of America All-Academic Team Thursday. The Bulldogs were among only 54 Div. I programs to earn President's Special Recognition status for having team GPAs of 3.5 or better.

    It's the seventh time in program history that Gonzaga earned President's Special Recognition status (2010, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023).


    To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors a college or university must submit the GPAs for each player on its official squad list for the academic year. Teams with a GPA between 3.0 and 3.5 were named All-Academic.

    Sacred Heart (NCAA Division I), Florida Southern (NCAA Division II), Kentucky State (HBCU), Carleton (NCAA Division III), South Carolina Beaufort (NAIA), Andrew (NJCAA Division I), and South Mountain (NJCAA Division II) were all named 2022-23 Academic National Champions for finishing with the top GPA in their respective divisions, announced today by the GCAA.

    Minni and Stocker Named All-America Scholars

    Stocker earns his fourth straight recognition

    NORMAN, Okla. – Gonzaga men's golfers Jace Minni and Zach Stocker were among the student-athletes named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars Wednesday.

    Stocker received the honor for the fourth straight year, while Minni earned his second straight recognition.

    To be eligible for GCAA All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate's Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, under 78.0 in NCAA Division II, under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, under 78.0 in NAIA, and under 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.

    548 NCAA Division I athletes from 194 schools earned 2022-23 GCAA All-America Scholar honors.
