If you don’t want to wear a mask for any reason, don’t show up. It may surprise some, but you have no legal right to enter McCarthy Center as it is a private not a public facility. Your privilege of using a ticket, whether a single game ticket or a season ticket, is conditioned on the rules set by the University for admission. Period. It used to be said in the Catholic Church, “you are free to disagree with the Pope; you are not free however to disobey”. I learned that from a Jesuit when I was an undergrad at Gonzaga in the last century. In this context, you are not free to disregard wearing a mask at the games no matter who you are.
Could not have said it better. The thing that I will never understand is all these people who claim their rights are being violated, have no regard to the fact that they are violating the rights of others. If someone tells you you must be masked, vaccinated or even that you must not be masked to enter their place of business or whatever, that is their right. Shut up and respect that.

To Johns credit, at least as far as what is portrayed in the article, he understands that to some degree and is complying without much of a stink. As for what he is promoting, well that does have one hell of an odor.

Almost as scary as the "over 100,000 children, which we've never had before, in serious condition, and many on ventilators". Quotes like this must really scare you.

Really? You believe this? Do you have two eyes? Then watch this:

Why do you need this to be fact checked by organizations all under the same umbrella? Use your own two eyes and look at the video yourself. Are they going to start fact checking the sky being blue? And if they told you it wasn't blue would you believe them?

Might want to eliminate the personal insults.

The actual analysis was done by Hany Farid, a university professor, whose extensive research focuses on digital forensics, image analysis and human perception. In addition, I have worked in video for over 35 years and have written over 200 articles on the use of video and its presentation in forensic law applications.

But then again, what does it matter to someone who is already convinced because of what he saw on social media?

Wish I could buy his tickets. I’d be masked, vaxxed and in attendance in a NY minute. Go Zags.

Jayray, why do you believe some random instagram or facebook post? Seems experts in the field of digital forensics determined the facebook post was the one that was altered. People who are respected in their field do not make up s#!+ like this. They have their careers to worry about. Nameless people on the internet hiding behind screens are the ones who are pulling your chain. They just love watching our society implode. Social media will be the downfall of humanity. Not some conspiracy theory nor am I trying to convince you, just my belief.

A few of the weaker ones will get their feelings hurt and whine on this thread and can’t take it. Or can’t figure out they don’t really need to visit this thread. Just like the OCC. Maybe better shut it down GZ.

The decision maker behind this decision didn't think this through.

Disenfranchising your most famous and influential alumni over a policy that most big basketball schools don't have or aren't enforcing is ridiculous.

Stockton is relied on heavily in basketball recruiting and is good friends with Coach Few. He's a pillar, perhaps after Mark Few, THE pillar for this program.

Zag Nation should watch closely to see if signs of a power struggle begin to emerge between Standiford and the basketball program that Few built.

                        Due to vaccinations?

                            Hmm

If a private institute wants to demand a mask manadate that is their option. Was the ban inconsistenet towards other seaon ticket holders? I dont know - maybe others could help with first hand experience at games? Is there a statement from the university about it? Or is the most trustworht source the article Q&A with Theo Lawson?

I like the Zags, which for me, means I like the mens basketball team. Ive enjoyed the entertainment product for the last 20+ years. Ive never rooted for the university. Im just here for some good basketball.

It’s a State of Wa. Mandate for large indoor events. Sounds like plenty of fans were complaining which forced the ADs hand. No idea if John is a big donar but a lot of those who sit around him are.

At one of the recent Lady Zag games, an older, gentlemen up in the nose bleed seats was approached by female zag officials three different times and told to put his mask on. The gentlemen would appear to agree and before the young women hit the bottom of the stairs he had it under his chin. The fourth time a gentlemen from security came up to him and told him this was his final warning and the next time he came up, it would be to escort him out.

No more trouble with this particular gentleman the rest of the game.

Stockton was not singled out to his "fame", he was blatantly violating a University edict on attending games in the kennel. As numerous people have said before, it has nothing to due with the validity of masking, vaccinations, etc. The university set the rules to attend events in the kennel. By purchasing tickets, you agree to abide by these regulations. I am sure if you want to give up your single game tickets or season tickets so you do not have to be bothered by wearing a mask, GU would gladly find somebody else to purchase the tickets, this year and next year.

Everybody should have to live under the same rules no matter if your name is Kyrie Irving, Novak Djokovic or John Stockton. GU got no benefit from this fiasco and the only person with their name back in the highlights of almost every major sports channel, edition, etc. in the US is Mr. Stockton. Personally, I think he should be ashamed it has come to this, but I am sure that is the farthest thing from his mind.
